My Past
I was born and raised in the PNW. I never expected myself to study film at NYU Tisch, to be in New York, working a fundraising job and moving to different boroughs every school year. After graduating, I knew that working in the film industry didn't align with my life goals and I could never imagine myself being a UX Designer. I didn't even know about it and much less consider it a possibility until I saw others entering the industry.
Below are still examples of short films I’ve made.
My Present
I was always open to the unexpected, so I took a leap of faith and plunged into the unknown. I didn't regret studying film. I knew my experience wasn't a total loss as I gained so many skills that could be easily transferred. My past experiences moving and navigating new unfamiliar
territories helped me approach UX Design. And in many ways, studying film has helped me with UX Design such as learning Adobe programs, storytelling, collaboration, visual composition, and human behavior.
My Future
I'm interested in industries of art, entertainment, social media, non-profits, technology, and e-commerce. I value a supportive remote work environment, collaboration, mentorship, learning opportunities, interesting projects, and opportunities for career advancements. I value constantly learning and growing as a UX Designer through self-learning, education, and feedback.
Outside of Design
I love to watch films and TV shows, read poetry, and books, academic theory, travel, photography, and cooking.
